The PLACE in Cyprus project is funded by the European Union under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community is funded by the European Union and co-implemented by Civil Society Initiative Association and NGO Support Centre. The project aims to improve the advocacy capacity of CSOs across the divide, to contribute to increasing participation in civil society through an interlinked process while fostering community engagement, social cohesion, and sustainable development through various activities and initiatives.
The CSOs to increase their knowledge on local, national and EU level advocacy through a series of trainings. At the same time they will be able to broaden their cross communal network in the advocacy academy, be provided with tailored mentorship specific to their topics and needs and will be encouraged and mentored into developing cross-communal advocacy plans. The successfully selected developed advocacy plans of CSOs will be provided with financial support through the small grants programme to ensure their implementation.
Through its diverse activities, the project endeavors to empower individuals and organizations, strengthen community networks, and promote a sense of belonging and shared responsibility for building a better future in Cyprus.
