Briefly describe the mission and objectives of your organisation (150 words max)
Oxygen for Democracy (formerly Oxygono) is a non-profit non-governmental organisation registered in 2014 and based in Cyprus. It works to improve the policy-making process in Cyprus and to make it more participatory, transparent and scientific. It consists of people from a wide range of backgrounds. It is a fully independent organisation governed by a five-member board of directors, a ten-member executive committee and a number of advisory bodies.
The organisation does not express a specific opinion. The idea and vision of Oxygen for Democracy goes beyond people who participate in its actions. Oxygen for Democracy provides the platform for different views to be heard. In addition to various projects participating in Oxygen for Democracy related to the improvement of democratic institutions, its main projects are Cyprus Forum, Cyprus Forum Cities, Nomoplatform and Procedural Law Unit Annual Symposium.
