25 Feb New report: ‘Capacity Assessment Report of CSOs in Cyprus – 2015’
The NGO Support Centre, in collaboration with the Management Centre of the Mediterranean has conducted an island-wide research on the capacities of CSOs in Cyprus. The research was part of the ‘Cypriot Civil Society Mapping and Capacity Building Project’ funded by the EEA Grants and the Republic of Cyprus.
During the research we examined different areas of operation with the aim of identifying the strengths and needs of organisations. Eighty CSOs from the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities were interviewed during a period of six months.
Along with identifying and mapping out the capacity deficiencies of CSOs in both communities, this report puts forward a set of recommendations that could enable an effective and sustainable capacity building process for CSOs.
We would like to convey our thanks to all the CSOs who participated in the research, providing their invaluable input on the current situation of Civil Society in Cyprus.
