National SDG Action Plan Workshop

In October, we were invited to take part in the National SDG Action Plan Workshop organised by the Directorate General for European Programmes, Coordination and Development with the support of the European Commission and UNITAR.

 

The workshop provided the space to stakeholders from the public, private and civil society sector to discuss recommendations on the SDG Architecture for Cyprus, the approach to and main building blocks of the national SDG Action Plan and the way to reflect social and environmental dimensions in long-term and sector growth strategies in Cyprus.

 

We stressed the need for stronger institutions under SDG 16 to enhance and empower civil society and provide the space to non-governmental stakeholders to actively contribute in policymaking through an organised civil society.
